Autobahn - Band on tour - pure freedom: what a motto! For every musician, the moment on stage is something very special. Getting up close and personal with the audience. Even if life on tour can be exhausting, it's worth the effort! Truck Stop has been on the road for over 50 years now. Millions of kilometers, countless stages and well over 6,000 concerts between Arizona and Eastern Europe are on the band's credit side. But despite this mammoth program, the greatest thing for the thoroughbred musicians around founding member Teddy Ibing is still to play up close in front of the fans and to get direct feedback on their new songs. "Working on an album, the creative process, the days and nights in the studio - it's all unique," says pedal steel icon Knut Bewersdorff, who has been strumming the strings since 1983. "But being on tour is in another league. Simply a feeling of "freedom" paired with the music that we and our fans enjoy." Revolverheld frontman Johannes Strate probably knows the same feeling, because together with Benjamin Dernhoff he wrote the first single release "Freiheit pur" for the cult band from Hamburg.
The new album impresses with its musical and thematic versatility and a modern sound that manages to seamlessly tie in with the first 50 years of Truck Stop, but also to pick up the listener in the year 2025 and accompany them through life. So it's no wonder that more and more younger fans are coming to the concerts to party like a honky tonk with Truck Stop and good country music.
