A symphony concert could hardly be more varied. Thomas Guggeis presents Leonard Bernstein's "Age of Anxiety" with the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra. A work in which the uncertain attitude to life in the post-war period is heard in gripping jazz elements. This is contrasted with Ludwig van Beethoven's "Pastoral", which, as an idyllic country piece, represents a deliberately cheerful alternative to the turmoil and upheavals of war at the time. A concerto that unites man and nature.
