A new hope - LATE NIGHT

In the organizer's words:

A pep talk for all those who want to do more than save democracy and are currently in despair. We bring together the best activists in the republic and let them talk about their work: How do they manage to turn the narrative around and keep giving us hope? An evening against hopelessness and loneliness. With:

Jean Peters, investigative journalist at Correctiv, action artist and performer. Author for newspaper and television formats and speaker at conferences or seminar leader at universities. He co-founded the Peng Kollektiv and the Seebrücken movement, led the campaigns at Oxfam and worked as an author for ZDF Magazin Royale. His book "Wenn die Hoffnung stirbt, geht's trotzdem weiter" was published by Fischer.

Helena Steinhaus is a German social activist. She became known as a critic of Hartz IV and as the founder of the Sanktionsfrei association in Berlin and is particularly involved in issues relating to citizens' income and social justice. Last year, her first book "Es braucht nicht viel" was published by Fischer Verlag.

Arne Semsrott is project manager and has been part of the "FragDenStaat" team since 2014. He is a political scientist and journalist. He frees people from prison with the Freedom Fund.

Carla Reemtsma is a German climate protection activist and co-organizer of "Fridays for Future" in Germany. As a spokesperson, she represents the movement nationwide and in the media.

Newroz Duman is an activist and spokesperson for the "Initiative 19. February Hanau" - they demand remembrance, justice, education and consequences. She works in the Association of Binational Families and Partnerships in Leipzig in the project Competence Network Islamophobia and Muslimophobia and (In)visibilities in the Migration Society.
She is a trauma pedagogue, was a long-time board member of PRO ASYL and active in the self-organized group of young refugees - Jugendliche ohne Grenzen.

Anna Dushime (moderator) is a German journalist, moderator and podcaster. She is Creative Director at Steinberger Silberstein, which produces the Browser Ballet, among others. She was awarded the Grimme Prize in 2024 for her talk show "Der letzte Drink".
