Two trapped bodies. When one tries to escape, the other becomes the prison guard. What if the only way out is through the other?
A pelo in Spanish means without protection or preparation. But it also stands for nakedness, facing something unarmed, often on a whim. And it stands for unprotected sexual intercourse.
In this raw duet for two dancers, Spanish choreographer and performer Fernando Troya negotiates queer sexuality between shame and liberation. The evening is inspired by his own experiences at a time when he used sex to escape feelings of self-doubt. The piece shows how queer desire becomes conflict and the body becomes a battlefield. An intense dance duet of sweat and survival. No protection, just naked desire.
