About TIME

In the organizer's words:

About TIME

The intergenerational body of stories

Live performance by Cristina D'Alberto - for people of all ages

About TIME is an immersive dance performance and installation carried by six performers of different ages, genders, cultural backgrounds and sexual identities. Through movement and storytelling, they explore collective themes such as trust, community and memories that are inscribed in individual life stories. The encounter shapes the idea that, despite all our differences, there is more that connects us than divides us - provided we are willing to really listen and feel. The performance invites visitors to engage in an open, non-hierarchical encounter in which the performers meet the audience on an intimate journey through different spaces, sounds and voices.

TIME is a research project and a platform that makes intergenerational movement visible through a growing archive. It focuses on the question of how experience, memory and identity are inscribed in the bodies of dancers of different ages and passed on through movement. Through artistic research, exchange and encounters, TIME creates a space in which these themes become visible and tangible. The platform invites people - dancers and non-dancers alike - to embark on a shared journey of exploration. Because everyone has a body, moves and goes through the process of ageing.

Cristina D'Alberto is a freelance choreographer, performer and contemporary dance teacher living between Germany and the UK. She has been working professionally since 2009 and has performed for various companies and choreographers. Internationally, she is regularly invited to give classes for academies and professional dancers. She holds a Master's degree in Choreography and Co-Creation from Codarts University in Rotterdam. Since 2016, Cristina has been developing her own choreographic works, which have been shown at various venues in Europe. In her artistic research, she explores identities and human relationships, as well as material and immaterial connections between people and the artificial, natural and imaginary spaces they inhabit. More recently, she has used concepts such as reflexivity, positionality and situatedness to explore internal and external transformations of moving, pregnant and ageing bodies.
