Acca Pillai is a German-Tamil diaspora podcast about Tamil culture, history and what lies behind it. The hosts Abby and Mac talk about life as children of the diaspora and do intersectional and colonial-historical educational work.

The Acca Pillai podcast has been around for 5 years. The podcast's birthday will be celebrated with a live event. The aim is to network and get to know people who are interested in diverse realities of life.

The event will take place on 01.02.2026 from 13:30 at the zakk in Düsseldorf. Guests can look forward to a diverse afternoon with a small, but excellent stage program, music, Tamil snacks, various hands-on activities, a live podcast and pop-up market. The ticket price includes admission to the Birthday Bash and two tokens for snacks. Drinks and other food can be purchased on site at fair prices. We know that we have a very diverse community, which also has different financial situations. That's why we've come up with a solidarity ticket model so that as many listeners as possible can come to our event. A regular ticket costs €15. If you need a reduced ticket price or have any questions, please send us an email to info@accapillai.de or DM us on Insta. At the same time, we would be very happy if those who have a little more money to spare could buy a "Soli-Ticket" (20€) or a "Golden Acca Pillai" ticket (25€). That way, we will be able to finance the whole event.
