Of demigods and humans: With wit, charm and acting skills, Jörg Pohl and Gala Othero Winter enter Hades under the direction of Antú Romero Nunes.
Troy has been destroyed, Achilles has fallen. His mother, the nymph Thetis, and Odysseus are left behind. In Beckettian clown style, they try to come to terms with their loss. They play, mourn, argue and bid their son and comrade-in-arms a final farewell. In the end, Odysseus ends up in the underworld and meets Achilles himself. His heroic death may have brought him fame, but here in Hades he is now alone and abandoned. Director Antú Romero Nunes draws on numerous motifs from Homer's "Iliad" and tells the prequel to his celebrated "Odyssey" (Thalia Theater Hamburg). A magical evening about two people who have little more in common than the shared memory of long-gone heroes, their deeds and the question of why all this?
