Let yourself be enchanted by a tradition that is over 650 years old: on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 5:00 pm, the Dresden Kreuzchor invites you to a festive Advent Vespers in the venerable Kreuzkirche. The weekly vespers are a living legend and have been attracting visitors from all over the world for centuries to celebrate the beginning of Advent together.

This year, the focus is on Johann Sebastian Bach's magnificent cantata "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland" (BWV 62). The masterpiece for the 1st Advent is based on Martin Luther's powerful Advent hymn and captivates with its baroque splendor - from the majestic opening chorus to the contrasting, intimate arias.

Together with renowned soloists, the Philharmonic Children's Choir and the Dresden Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, the Dresdner Kreuzchor brings these magnificent sounds to new life and musically opens the gates to the Christmas season. An unforgettable experience full of splendor and contemplation.
