A dance piece by Ensemble Aetas / Sylvia Heyden

"The piece is dedicated to the beauty of old age, visualizing the fullness of life lived. There is more: pleasure, exuberance, joy. Detachment. The radical tenderness with which the bodies meet. Desire lived out. Longings that point to the future. The wanting and desiring of these bodies, it is far from over ..." (Lisa Kruschke)

Aetas stands for life, stage of life, for age and thus for the time that a person has already lived. The piece explores the experience of bodies that are characterized by a love of dance and a life lived. It plays with the special presence of the phase of life of old age and with the lines of a never-ending desire. Choreographer Sylvia Heyden explores the dance aesthetics of experienced bodies with six dancers aged between 60 and 90. Her aim is to bring the special beauty of the ageing body to the stage. This is as much an experiment as an artistic statement. The piece itself generates a moment of living time that flows differently from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
