In the organizer's words:
Banning the AfD - sensible strategy or strategic risk?
At the anti-fascist demonstrations at the beginning of the year, one demand was heard again and again: the call for a ban on the AfD.
We ask: Can campaigning for an AfD ban be a sensible strategy against the "shift to the right" in parliament and beyond? What would such a ban achieve and what wishes are associated with a ban campaign? What hurdles are there for a ban and what risks could be associated with advocating a party ban from the left? Could the already fragile democracy suffer further damage? Will the security authorities be further strengthened by such a campaign? And what about the other parties and the extreme right, which also pursue right-wing policies in parliament or on the streets? We want to discuss these questions on a panel and with you and hope for a lively participation.
The event is part of the "What to do?" series of events, which, after the Correctiv research became known and the subsequent protests, deals with questions about the social shift to the right and ways of becoming active for a society based on solidarity.
