After the overwhelming success of previous years, this year's big Africa market will once again take place on Marlene-Dietrich-Platz in front of the Karlstorbahnhof. The market will focus on information and food stalls from various African associations as well as handicrafts from the different regions of the African continent. In addition to high-quality carvings and art objects, you will find fabrics, jewelry, musical instruments, clothes and food.

There are also plenty of culinary delights to discover. Couscous and plantain have long been known, but who has ever tried Akara, Suya, Dundun, Bissap, Imboga, Lengalenga or Igishue? A good reason to leave your own kitchen cold this weekend and embark on a culinary journey around the world.

The various associations present their respective projects and main areas of work in short presentations.

Stage program Sunday

Sunday has a lot in store musically. For example, the Akoo Show Choir from Ghana will be performing on the outdoor stage with their German tour "NKABOM". The title of the tour can best be translated as "togetherness". NKABOM thus describes an attitude of openness and solidarity in which everyone is heard and has their place. Under the direction of Francis Baffoe, the vocally powerful singers perform secular and sacred songs from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. Some of the songs will be accompanied by expressive choreography.

Conference on the UN Decade for People of African Descent

The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed the "UN Decade for People of African Descent". As a member state, Germany is also called upon to promote the rights and recognition of people of African descent and to combat discrimination and racism. All people of African descent are invited to take part and jointly develop perspectives for the UN Decade in Germany. As an introduction, presentations will provide an overview of the progress and interim results of the UN Decade in Germany to date. Then perspectives for Baden-Württemberg and Germany will be developed in working groups such as Organization & Networking, Economic Empowerment, Anti-Racism, Social Affairs and Health. Finally, the discussions and proposals will be summarized in preparation for the next nationwide meeting in Hanover.

Conference times: Saturday 5.7.25 from 12-15h and 17-19h, Sunday 6.7.25 from 11-15h.

The conference is organized by the Panafrikanische Organisation e.V. in cooperation with Eine-Welt-Zentrum.
