Aktionstag Europa in der Hansabibliothek

In the organizer's words:

Europe is more than just a geographical area - it is a diverse living and cultural space, characterized by different languages, traditions and perspectives. The Europe Action Day invites you to discover this diversity, exchange ideas and experience Europe on a small scale. Whether singing together, designing creatively or in conversation: The focus is on encounters, participation and the question of what Europe means for us today. On this day, Hansaplatz and the Hansa Library will become open spaces for culture, exchange and new ideas.

Program:

10:00 am - 4:00 pm Shaping Europe: Your vision, your voice!

Europe lives from our ideas. At the stand of the Comparative Research Network, you can help shape the future creatively: In the zine workshop you design your own mini-magazine on "Europe of tomorrow", the upcycling station "Resources without borders" makes sustainable circular economy practically tangible on a small scale, and in the creative corner "Linking diversity" collages are created by designing together. Whether wishes, criticism or visions - get involved and set an example for a colorful, sustainable and democratic Europe!

11:00 - 14:00 Europe quiz - discover Europe through play

The Europe quiz invites visitors to playfully test their knowledge about Europe. 16 questions on history, politics, culture and current topics provide exciting "aha" moments. Whether alone, with friends or in a group - the quiz offers an entertaining approach to European topics and promotes exchange and discovery. The offer is supervised by the European Academy Berlin as part of Europe Direct Berlin.

At the same time, the European Commissioner of the District Office of Mitte Berlin will be offering space for exchange and discussions about Europe at an information table.

13:00 - 15:00 Song journey through Europe: Sing Along with Stefanie Mikus

Pack your voice - we're traveling through Europe singing! Together with singer Stefanie Mikus, we will sing the greatest hits of the last decades: pop, pop and folk songs - everything is included! It's not about perfection, but about the joy of singing together as a group. The lyrics will be provided.

13:00 - 16:00 Screen printing to join in with Jördis Hirsch

Together with artist Jördis Hirsch, Europe becomes creatively visible: stars - inspired by the European flag - are developed into individual motifs and printed on fabric. This creates personal statements for a common Europe. Cotton bags will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own items of clothing and give them a European accent.

The event takes place as part of the OFFEN FÜR KULTUR project in the Hansa Library and is free of charge.

You can find the complete program of OFFEN FÜR KULTUR here: www.offen-fuer-kultur.de.

OFFEN FÜR KULTUR is funded by the LOTTO-Stiftung Berlin.

The Action Day Europe takes place in cooperation with the European Academy Berlin, the Comparative Research Network and the European Commissioner of the District Office Mitte of Berlin.
