The artwork by Albert Coers creates a place of remembrance for the Mann family of writers. It consists of signs from streets and squares in Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich, Rome and São Paulo, among others, named after members of the family, as well as street lights from places where the Manns lived or were in exile, such as Lübeck, Nida, Sanary-Sur-Mer, New York, Los Angeles and Kilchberg. These elements reflect the internationality of the family and express their worldwide literary influence and significance. At the same time, the responsibility that Munich bears due to its forced exile during the Nazi regime is recognized.
