000 (2026)
with Shane Riley
000 exploresthe tension, overlaps, and blurred lines between stage magic and “real” magic.
In English,OOOis an abbreviation for both “Out of Office” and “Object-Oriented Ontology.” The common typo000 isinterpreted as an “angel number” and associated with new beginnings, openness, and a blank slate. In computer systems, 000 can indicate a communication error or a system reset. In many countries, 000 is also an emergency number.
In their new improvised performance, clown and performance artist Alex Tatarsky and experimental electronic musician Shane Riley explore the question of how spirit inhabits matter and how nothingness can become a place of magical possibilities. It is an attempt to let oneself be possessed rather than to take possession; to find joy in failure and chaos, and to enjoy the summer vacation. We hope this email never reaches you.
000was created in response to the performances*Ghosts*(2023) by Shasti and*LEGERDEMAIN*(2024) by Cru Encarnação, which were presented during past Tropez summers.
