On December 15 with Alexander "Hurricane" Schaef!
The cooking show alfredissimo! is a contemporary witness to an era in which queer emancipation progressed through continuous normalization. Almost 500 times, Biolek produced a queer mediocrity that drew its tolerance from its supposed conformity. He was virtually the antipode to the dog-poo eating drag queen Divine. Thomas Bartling is now reactivating the queer cooking show once a month on the stage of the Theatermuseum Düsseldorf.
In this field between pleasure and disgust, overwhelming and intimacy as well as eccentricity and normativity, Thomas Bartling and a different guest each examine the kitchen as a place for its fuckability: where does culinary eroticism end and when does it become vulgar?
Alexander "Hurricane" Schaef is an installation/performance/chaos artist whose work revolves around queer violence and mental illness, among other things. The nightmarish loneliness Schaef experienced growing up as a queer and neurodiverse person in rural America during adolescence drives the creative process.
