Alle für Einen! Hommage an Tilman Thiemig
In the organizer's words:
Twelve cultural figures from the region have come together to pay tribute to their longtime colleague TILMAN THIEMIG.
Thiemig, an eloquent jack-of-all-trades who shaped the local cultural scene for decades through countless performances, readings, audiobooks, and novels, passed away last year. It’s high time to take another look back at his work, say his colleagues. In an exhibition at Kult, they bring together excerpts from Thiemig’s body of work: readings, videos, light installations, live jazz, projections, pen-and-ink drawings, and offbeat worldviews.
Featuring:
Thomas Bode, Andreas Döring, Thomas Hirche, Roland Kremer, Walter Kuhlgatz, Bärbel Mäkeler, Jörg Melchert, Wolf Menzel, Heinrich Römisch, Elmar Vibrans, Bernd Schulz, Grzegorz Zgraja.
“So with Tilman, we’re the Wild Thirteen” (Andreas Döring)
Tilman Thiemig was not only an author but also a pillar of the cultural scene in Braunschweig and Wolfsburg, a mediator and bridge-builder to the world of literature, and a key figure in fostering collaboration between literature, music, and the visual arts.
Numerous musicians, authors, visual artists, and a theater owner have come togetherto pay tribute to Tilman Thiemig’s work in a fitting setting. The “Das Kult” theater consists not only of the main auditorium but also of various additional spaces on the upper floors. Each room is brought to life with Tilman’s works.
