To mark his new film THE ROOM NEXT DOOR (this year's Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival), we are dedicating a small retrospective in our Best Of film series to the most successful Spanish director and screenwriter of our time.

After the accidental death of her son, the grieving mother Manuela travels to Barcelona to fulfill his last wish. She is to look for his biological father, who is now called Lola and wears women's clothes. On her journey, she meets biological and retrofitted women who have to carry a worse fate on their shoulders.
