In the organizer's words:
Fall is apple season. In addition to classics like applesauce and apple pie, you can also make vinegar from apples and windfall fruit. It’s used as a seasoning or cleaning agent and also offers many health benefits. In the KGV Bellerstrasse nature garden, you’ll learn interesting facts about the history of vinegar and the different types of vinegar that exist. Afterward, we’ll turn windfall fruit into a vinegar starter, and you’ll have the chance to make your own fruit, herb, or flower vinegar.
Please bring: a large screw-top pickle jar with a lid.
Please wear warm, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes, as the workshop will take place in and in front of the garden arbor.
Meeting point: Hürth-Efferen Cemetery, corner of Bellerstrasse and Frielsweg (parking available at the cemetery).
The workshop will be held in the nature garden at KGV Bellerstrasse, Lindenallee 132, 50345 Hürth.
