Ami Warning is going on tour again, but it's never been about delivering the perfect glittering pop show, but much more about the authenticity and the edges that Ami and her band bring across from the first note and that you can feel immediately as a listener. When slow hip-hop grooves kick in and Ami begins to sing along, it is immediately clear that this voice is recognizable among thousands, sometimes scratchy and imperfect, then again deep and soft. Ami Warning grew up with music, even as a child she often attended her father's concerts and now she has been writing her own songs for over 10 years and has already performed on various stages. (support Milky Chance, Phillip Dittberner, Suzanne Vega, collaborations with the Goethe Institute in France, Norway, Canada and New York)
She produced and wrote her latest mixtape and played all the instruments herself, so it quickly becomes clear that this is not just another manufactured German pop starlet, but a real musician. Her songs are about moments that everyone has experienced in one way or another, and Ami's unfiltered honesty sometimes brings tears to your eyes and then makes you dance away again. In 2022, she was awarded the Gema Music Writers' Prize for her individual writing style.
In terms of genre, Ami's music is many things. She could perhaps be categorized somewhere between Jack Johnson, the female Henning May and Tracy Chapman, even if pigeonholing is actually superfluous. To get a real picture, you have to see it, nothing is overly rehearsed, everything feels natural. On this tour Ami presents her second German-language album together with her longtime band colleagues (drums, bass, electric guitar, keyboard), the title fits perfectly with what you can expect live, this feeling that Ami's music gives you - time out.
