A theatrical journey & digital detox deluxe
In a world full of swipes, likes and push notifications, ANALOG invites you on a journey into the tangible. On our tour through Munich, you will experience an interactive performance journey that celebrates analog cultural techniques - with real handiwork and sound performances. All analog.
The ANALOG tour will be accompanied by Stephanie Müller aka Rag*Treasure and Klaus Erika Dietl from MEDIENDIENST LEISTUNGSHÖLLE. Their artistic practice operates at the intersection of artistic research, performance and social sculpture.
Singing sewing machines, lawnmowers as bass harps and waiting areas that transform into sound spaces - Müller and Dietl's artistic interventions invite an active engagement with material, place and audience - always open to the noise and in search of the resistant in the detail.
Stephanie Müller brings textile materials into relationship with sound, Klaus Erika Dietl shifts media boundaries between film, installation and performative gesture. The focus is on experimentation - and the conviction that art must be created in dialog with everyday life.
In the course of the ANALOG tour, they react to the atmosphere of the locations - sometimes quietly, sometimes directly, with a fine sense for haptic nuances and the unexpected. Between metallic shimmer, mechanical whirring, light experiments and the bubbling of fermenting worlds, they perform with a vendor's tray stage and portable sound bodies. With DIY charm, a pinch of punk spirit and the courage to be vague, they pose the question: What can analog technologies tell us today - about making, remembering, togetherness?
Because we scroll, swipe and click - and in doing so, we are increasingly forgetting that our ancestors laboriously wrote letters, built cameras themselves and left real traces in the world with hammers and chisels. At a time when every app bombards us with push notifications, we invite you on a journey back to tangible cultural techniques:
- Works of art cast from metal instead of 3D printing
- Individual pieces on photo paper instead of 4K streaming
- Real ferment instead of instant kimchi
- And yes: real bicycle inner tubes instead of smart tracking gadgets
In an era in which digital technologies dominate our everyday lives, we often lose touch with the analog cultural techniques that have shaped us for centuries. These techniques are not only practical skills, but also an expression of our creativity and humanity. They teach us patience, precision and an appreciation of craftsmanship.
Experience "Analog" - a theatrical traveling performance that lets you rediscover the beauty and value of the analog. Under the musical-performative guidance of Steffi and Klaus from MEDIENDIENST LEISTUNGSHÖLLE, you will visit places in and around Munich where analog cultural techniques are kept alive. From art casting with metal and analog photography to fermentation and bicycle building - here you can switch off your smartphones and have real, tangible experiences instead.
This performance is not just for watching. Under the guidance of experts, you will become active yourself and learn about these techniques, accompanied by music and performance.
