Andrea Fazioli. Disappeared in Ticino. (Kampa)
Author reading in the series: Literature of the Neighbors.
In a panorama of the lonely, wandering heroes of the Italian crime novel, the author tells the story of the grieving Sonia Rocchi. Her husband Enzo suddenly succumbed to his neglected heart condition. In search of solace in the mountains, Sonia travels with her daughter Natalia to the vacation apartment they share in Ticino. There, in the sleepy village of Corvesco, the former private detective Elia Contini now leads a leisurely life as a local reporter, having turned his back on his previous adventures as an investigator. Contini has become comfortable, but Sonia comes across research in Enzo's estate about undercover machinations in the quiet mountain village. What crime was Enzo on the trail of, and why do all the clues seem to lead to the village bar "Tukan"? Translated from the Italian by Barbara Schaden.
Fazioli convinces the reader with his plot, his style and the psychological depth of the characters. (Milano Finanza)
