Andrea Poggio in Konzert

The Italian Cultural Institute Cologne presents Andrea Poggio with his concert on Tuesday, May 7 at 7:30 pm in the IIC Theater Hall.

Andrea Poggio offers the Institute's audience an intimate musical journey through his works, in which the Italian singer-songwriter tradition merges in an original way with the most sophisticated electronic pop.

Andrea Poggio, a musician living in Milan, debuted his project named after him with the album "Controluce" (2017), an art-pop work whose content draws from Italian singer-songwriters such as Paolo Conte and is interspersed with synthetic sounds à la Talking Heads and Dirty Projectors.

The album, recorded between Milan and New York by Eli Crews (Yoko Ono, Deerhoof, tUnE-yArDs), was accompanied by a tour of over 40 concerts. Poggio has opened many concerts by well-known Italian (Colapesce, Baustelle, Brunori Sas) and international artists (Erlend Oye, Jonathan Wilson).

In the fall of 2019, Andrea Poggio began working on the soundtrack for "Onoda", a film by Oscar-winning French director Arthur Harari. The soundtrack was composed together with Enrico Gabrielli, Sebastiano De Gennaro, the Japanese sound artist Gak Sato and the French musician Olivier Marguer. This film opened the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival in July 2021.

The release of his latest album "The Future" on May 5, 2023 was followed by a 20-date tour of Italy.
