Every summer, on one Saturday a month, Andy Pilger and top-notch guest musicians jam, play covers, and make music at ANDY PILGER’S FUNKY SUMMER on the OPEN AIR terrace of the Jazzkeller.

The series was initiated by drummer Andy Pilger. He’s been swinging those sticks since he was 9 years old and took advantage of opportunities in the U.S. to study under the likes of David Garibaldi of Tower of Power, Mike Clark of Herbie Hancock, and Kennwood Dennard of Manhattan Transfer. In Germany, he has worked with greats such as Bill Ramsey, Gitte Haenning, Howard Carpendale, Götz Alsmann, Vonda Shepard (Ally McBeal), Joy Fleming, Catarina Valente, and many others.
