Ryota Miyagi, "speedster" and point guard at Shohoku High School, always plays with brains and is lightning fast, dribbling around his opponents while feigning composure. Born and raised in Okinawa, Ryota has a brother three years older. Ryota literally became addicted to basketball, following in the footsteps of his older brother, who was a famous local player at a young age. In his second year of high school, Ryota, along with Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, and Mitsui, plays on the Shohoku High School basketball team and competes in the national inter-school championship. And now they are about to challenge the reigning champion, Sannoh Kogyo High School.
