Marie goes to the meeting - she could also go home, her body is tired, heavy and worn out, and actually she could also go home with her two bananas in newspaper, it could be a nice, quiet evening. But Marie goes to the meeting... - Marie, Agathe Schweigert, Katharina, Marta Emrich and Luisa from Haiti are courageous women who refuse to take on the roles assigned to them. Their stories span centuries and tell of their hunger for life and longing for happiness, of endangered love, of the courage to be human and remain true to themselves. They are not heroines, they live an unspectacular, ordinary fate like countless others. In the strength of the weak, they preserve their dignity, even when they are crushed by the political terror of their time.

The actress Inga Bruderek will read from "Der Ausflug der toten Mädchen", "Das Schilfrohr", "Marie geht in die Versammlung" and other stories by Anna Seghers. The texts are taken from the book "Die Trennung - Geschichten über Frauen", published by Aufbau Verlag.
