Annika Sala "Spirit Warrior" x Harbour Front Literaturfestival Hamburg
In the organizer's words:
A woman leaves her familiar life in the West, travels alone to China, and faces the rigorous daily routine of a kung fu school—pushing herself to her physical and mental limits. Actress, stuntwoman, and director Annika Sala recounts this extraordinary journey in her first book, *Spirit Warrior*, which will be released on September 22, 2026.
To mark the book’s release, she’s bringing her story to the stage for the first time: Through a combination of a reading and an interactive presentation, she invites the audience not only to hear about her experiences but to experience them firsthand.
For her personal development, Annika Sala spent several months in China and immersed herself deeply in the world of Shaolin teachings. At a remote kung fu school, she trained under extreme conditions and learned the traditional martial art of Meihua Quan. What began as a search for answers became a profound transformation: a new perspective on achievement, success, and the values of Western society.
Annika Salais known from film and television and has appeared in productions such as “Polizeiruf 110” and “Der Flensburg Krimi,” among others. She has also been involved in various projects behind the camera, including “The Last Kumite” and “Make Me Feel.” With “Spirit Warrior,” she is now opening a new chapter—one that is personal, inspiring, and relatable.
