There is no doubt that Heinrich Heine was enthusiastic about the "good life" and the amenities it offered. His literary work contains countless references to culinary delights and sensual pleasures. What's more, in his writings Heine raises a general right to enjoyment to a political demand: "You demand simple costumes, abstinent customs and unseasoned pleasures; we, on the other hand, demand nectar and ambrosia [...]". The event, a guided tour through the exhibition "Romanticism and Revolution", combined with a reading, is dedicated to these life-affirming aspects of Heine's work.
