Arash Sasan Band release concert "Familiar Stranger "

The music of Arash Sasan and his band is a unique blend of oriental, Mediterranean and jazzy sounds that make every performance a varied and unforgettable experience. In their luggage: their new album "Familiar Stranger".

The band members are bursting with energy and joy, which they transfer to the audience with musical highlights and jazzy spontaneity.

With tremendous intensity, the Iranian from Munich tells of his own experiences or sets classical Persian poetry by poets such as Rumi or Hafiz to music. The texts are in Persian, but the content is not only perceptible through the text but also through the sound of the music.

Thematically, folk song-like stories are also taken up, which Arash Sasan is able to portray in their depth and drama without being kitschy - and then rhythm and joie de vivre dominate again in the next song.

Arash Sasan has found musical partners in Munich for his often rhythmically captivating songs, with whom he has been playing together for several years: pianist Josef Reßle, winner of the BMW-Welt Young Artist Jazz Award 2016, drummer and frame drum player Stefan Noelle and the young Venezuelan double bassist Wilbert Pepper, who comes from the fascinating tradition of Venezuelan youth orchestras. Their music is enriched by the talented German-American violinist Rebecca Friedman. From one moment to the next, they transform from sensitive accompanists into furious soloists, only to place themselves completely at the service of Arash Sasan's musical poetry again in the next moment.
