Arbeit, Wohnen und Wandel nach der Wende- Gemeinsame Radtour entlang der Hafenbahntrasse

State parliament candidate Gitta Hartenstein-Wiermann invites citizens to a joint bike tour along the harbor railway line. The aim of the event is to get into conversation with local people and discuss current challenges together, particularly in the areas of work, the economy, housing and transformation. The meeting point is on June 7, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Raffineriestraße stop.

The walk will focus on the following question: "What happens to a district when industry disappears and new things emerge?" There will be short impulses on site, but above all space for exchange and questions. The Hafenbahntrasse shows just how much Halle is changing: from industry and production to disruptions after reunification to new residential projects and other uses. The cycle tour visits places where industrial history, experience of the East and structural change are still visible today. We will talk about what this change means for work, housing and everyday life in the neighborhood. The social consequences of transformation, such as the loss of jobs, new developments in housing and the question of how security, prospects and affordable housing can be created for everyone in Halle.
