Archie Clapp
Your own daughter gets new lungs.
How does a father cope with this? Archie Clapp writes his new comedy program about it!
Sure, lung transplants aren't the most obvious topic for entertaining comedy - but even as a comedian, you can't choose your children...
In "New Wings", Archie Clapp takes us on the rollercoaster that the whole family has been on from the diagnosis to the operation: A touching tribute to life - honest, wild, tender and hilarious. But beware: this show may also contain traces of open marriage, family chaos and Neukölln!
"Almost as funny as the hospital clowns"
(daughter, now 12)
ARCHIE CLAPP:
Archie Clapp comes from a German-English family of artists. Born in England in 1985, he has spent most of his life in Germany. Even as a small child, he performed on stage with his parents and was so enthusiastic about it that he graduated from the Staatliche Artistenschule Berlin after school. After his first experiences as a street performer, in the circus and variety theater, he has recently become a sought-after stand-up comedian and presenter, including at the Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin, Nightwash live and the Schmidt Mitternachtsshow on Hamburg's Reeperbahn.
As a comedian and sign language interpreter, he toured almost all TV shows with Okan Seese for two years. He now performs his solo program in well-known cabaret theaters such as the Wühlmäusen/Berlin or the Renitenztheater/Stuttgart. In recent years he has also won various
competition prizes, including the NDR Comedy Contest, the Paulaner Solo and the Tuttlinger Krähe.
Archie Clapp also writes: Gags for colleagues and his own final thesis in the "Social Pedagogy and Management" course entitled: "Development and validation of a questionnaire to record resilience in children with organ transplants".
