Whether he is performing with his trio at a crowded European festival or playing a solo piano concert in a jazz club in Tel Aviv, pianist Ari Erev's music always tells a story.

His extremely melodic and harmonious music has its roots in the tradition of the great contemporary jazz trios (Evans, Jarrett, Barron). At the same time, he is inspired by energetic, fresh Latin rhythms and Israeli music and creates his own mature voice, which is presented on his latest album "Close to Home".

Described by "All About Jazz" as "one of the finest pianists on the modern international jazz scene" and by "Bebop Spoken Here" as "brilliant and beautiful ... excellent synergy of jazz and world music,... inspired and spontaneous musicality", his audiences are deeply touched by the warm atmosphere he creates, in which personal experiences are reflected in the music he performs.

Having played at several prestigious European venues and jazz festivals, Erev has collaborated with outstanding international musicians: Joel Frahm & Freddie Hendrix (USA), Rosta Fras (Czech Republic), Felice Reggio (Italy), Agnes Lakatos & Tibor Csuhaj Barna (Hungary) and Yuval Cohen (3 Cohens).

As a performing musician, Ari regularly plays and performs in the best jazz clubs in Israel, including Levontin 7, Shablul Jazz and Beit Haamudim in Tel Aviv, as well as on jazz tours in major jazz clubs in Europe. He has also performed at jazz festivals and series in Israel and Europe, including the prestigious "International Jazz Piano Festival" in the Czech Republic and Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival, as well as on Israeli radio and television. He composed the music for the documentary film "Bokito", performed in theater plays and as music director in many Jazz-V. He also teaches jazz piano improvisation.
