Workshop: Arondeus Widerstand

In the organizer's words:

Queer perspectives on the future, resilience and resistance are at the heart of this artistic workshop. In a time of growing queer hostility, we want to create spaces of hope, resilience and imagination together with the participants. The aim is to strengthen the ability to imagine positive futures beyond cis-heteronormativity through creative work and collective thinking - as a tool of resistance and self-empowerment.

The workshop consists of two parts: With our theoretical introduction, we want to provide participants with speculative methods from Design Futuring. They are intended to help design alternative futures beyond normative narratives. A central method is the recognition and discussion of "hopeful signals" - small, often overlooked signs of social change in the here and now that can be understood as seeds for desirable futures. These positive signals are contextualized and thought through together. From this, we will formulate "Fictional Scenarios" - fictional newspaper headlines that focus on queer life.

The practical part is collaborative: together with the participants, we create collective figures of resistance. An anthropomorphic figure of resistance will be created from modeling clay and chicken wire. The aim is a collective expression of sustainability, experimentation, vulnerability and strength.

The workshop is aimed at queer people (FLINTA*, trans*, inter*, non-binary, gay, lesbian, bi, etc.) with an interest in art, future thinking and collective practice. No prior knowledge is necessary. A gender-sensitive and racism-critical approach among the workshop participants is a prerequisite.
