Artist Talk - Monja Droßmann im Dialog mit Anke Eilergerhard, Brigitte Dams und Anke Lohrer

About the exhibition:

Braided and woven, applied in layers or with spray bags, embroidered or translated into other media. The grace of materiality presents five different positions that unite in their artistic practice of experimentation. They use a wide variety of materials: from used fire hoses and webbing to wallpaper books, layered acrylic gel, embroidery and highly pigmented silicone in the shape of a cream cap. Their approaches and techniques challenge our concepts of perception, art and space.

US-American artist Sheila Hicks deals with similar questions. A comprehensive exhibition of her work can be seen at the Josef Albers Museum Quadrat in Bottrop and the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf until February 25, 2025. Both exhibitions were co-curated by Monja Droßmann
co-curated by Monja Droßmann. It is therefore a special pleasure for us that Ms. Droßmann is moderating the Artist Talk.
