Pärt's musical roots are the focus of this Zeitinsel evening with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, which presents the composer's preoccupation with Gregorian chant and Baroque music through specific juxtapositions. It also reflects Pärt's relationship to religion, who, as a member of the Orthodox Church, explores works such as Rachmaninov's Vespers as well as great works of Catholic vocal polyphony and Bach's motets.
