Franco-German Day takes place every year on January 22 - a special date in the history of Franco-German relations. On January 22, 1963, Konrad Adenauer and Charles de Gaulle signed the Élysée Treaty, which laid the foundation for the friendship between Germany and France. 40 years later, in 2003, Gerhard Schröder and Jacques Chirac launched the first Franco-German Day. With the Treaty of Aachen on January 22, 2019, Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed the close cooperation between the two countries and laid the foundation stone for the Franco-German Civic Fund, among other things. To celebrate the Franco-German friendship in 2026, the organizers of Serge&Nina are presenting a special evening on 24 January 2026 at the zakk in Düsseldorf. The non-profit organization specializes in intercultural music projects that make French artists visible in Germany. This time, they are bringing Asfar Shamsi and Champ to the stage.

Asfar Shamsi is a unique figure in the up-and-coming French hip-hop scene and is characterized by concise rhymes and a sophisticated personal writing style. Her lyrics are rap in structure and pop in color, with intimate, electronic or breezy productions. Her self-taught career, her intimate universe and her ability to mix very different influences make her a promising artist who is becoming increasingly successful in France and is already being streamed in many neighboring countries.

Düsseldorf-born artist Champ has established himself as a promising newcomer in rap/hip-hop. With over 40 releases and more than 1 million streams, he impressively demonstrates his potential. He has already worked with artists such as Absent, KAIBA and Icy on national projects. His live experience from more than 25 performances, including at the Düsseldorfer Büdchentag and his own shows, convinces his audience as well as the media attention from platforms such as Juicy Underground, New Wave Germany and LTB Magazine. In March 2025, Champ was one of the winners of the Bandprofessionaliserung 2025 Düsseldorf, once again successfully attracting attention both in the media and locally.
