Assafir

Assafir is a group of birds whose impetuous ballet plays with time and boundaries. By exploring a traditional repertoire of the Greek diaspora in Thrace and Anatolia, Assafir tries to unite the colors of two worlds.
On both sides of the Bosporus, each instrument forges a link between the Orient and the Balkans: oud and qanun on one side, clarinet and quarter-tone accordion on the other, vocals and percussion together form the basic framework.
The six musicians of Assafir offer a rare repertoire that tells us about the immensity of human emotions. Stories of love or exile, of the search for freedom and emancipation, which move from a deep and painful state of mind to an invigorating celebration. As if to remind us that it is the celebration that saves us from everything.

Lucile And The Rakibuam

The hearts of Lucile And The Rakibuam beat in irregular beats. They describe their music as "Electro-Dynamic-Psych-Folk!" Their repertoire is based on old folk songs, traditional hits and forgotten popular songs from the musical archives of Anatolia and the Middle East. These migrated with the psychedelic wave of the 60s and 70s around the Mediterranean and from East to West. In the process, many interpretations were created in different languages. The band's sound is rooted in early productions of the Turkish rock scene. This opens up comparisons to bands like Altın Gün or Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek. But these Munich boys open up the construct even further: elements of funk, surf rock, ethno-jazz, dub, breakbeat and electronica are natural set pieces in their sound mix, bringing them close to Istanbul acts such as Babazula and Elektro Hafiz.
