Asteroid City, a tiny desert town somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the USA in the 1950s: After an asteroid impact, a huge crater has formed here and every year visitors come to the "Junior Stargazer" congress, where the scientific community meets with young researchers. There are also a few people who happen to be stranded in Asteroid City. And all those present are confronted with a very special experience this year...
