Art in the neighborhood

Once again this year, on the weekend of November 9 to 10 2024, the Menzing Studio Days will once again take place in the north-west of Munich. After the group was expanded last year to include the artist Reinhard Mohr on the occasion of the 25th anniversary, ten studios and exhibition venues can be visited again this year on a short tour. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Menzing artists invite you, the art-loving public, to view the works during a walk through the district in the afternoon.

Irene Bauer-Conrads works with various experimental techniques. Her extraordinary works are sometimes delicate but also explosive and expressive. Daniela Dewes shows colorful pictures that reflect her personal impressions from her everyday life, from Munich or from her travels. Gerda Fischer 's airy watercolors and original material montages with subtle humor can be seen in her beautiful studio. Manuela Franz's bright, natural acrylic and oil paintings are created with loose brushstrokes or spatulated applications of paint . Cornelia Hohenegg works in several artistic techniques such as drawing, collage, painting and printmaking - exciting works between the figurative and the abstract. Reinhard Mohr's aim is to bring out the special aesthetics of the captured moment in black and white photography. Maja Rodrian exhibits multi-layered, partly abstract, partly figurative mixed media in her rooms, while Ursula Tillmetz creates moving abstract spaces from multi-layered color overlays, also as reverse glass paintings. Andrea Leuchs provides her and objects with finely written personal thoughts that cover them, sometimes in multi-layered overlays, like a delicately spun carpet. Gabriele Strehlau's large-format landscapes, collages and book overpaintings transport us into enigmatic and seemingly timeless pictorial spaces and are accompanied by Rosina Zimmermann 's imaginative figurines.
