A reading from the correspondence between Paula Modersohn-Becker and Otto Modersohn
We cordially invite you to the opening of three newly curated galleries as part of the“From the Collection”series. The focus is on works by Paula Modersohn-Becker, Otto Modersohn, Fritz Overbeck, and Heinrich Vogeler. We are pleased to welcome Antje Modersohn to the opening for an introductory address.
This will be followed by a reading from the correspondence between Paula Modersohn-Becker and Otto Modersohn.
With the publication of previously unpublished letters, diaries, and postcards by Otto Modersohn, this edition from Insel Verlag establishes, for the first time, a dialogue between the voices of these two artistic personalities. Edited by Antje Modersohn and Wolfgang Werner, in collaboration with the Paula Modersohn-Becker Foundation and the Otto Modersohn Foundation, it offers insights into the shared life and intellectual world of the artist couple. The correspondence spans the years 1895 to 1908 and traces their relationship, their artistic development, and their passion for art through authentic sources.
Actress Verena Güntner and actor Robert Levin, who have been studying these texts for many years, will read selected passages from the correspondence.
