Ausstellung "Sächsischer Staatspreis Baukultur 2026. Bauen im Spannungsfeld von Hightech und Lowtech"

The Saxon State Prize for Building Culture is awarded by the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development in cooperation with the Saxony Chamber of Architects and the Saxony Chamber of Engineers. The corresponding exhibition of the award winners is shown at the ZfBK and then sent on tour in Saxony by the ZfBK.

Prizes are awarded to construction projects that make an outstanding contribution to building culture in Saxony. This year, the competition is dedicated to the motto "Building in the field of tension between high-tech and low-tech" and thus to one of the most important current requirements of construction: the efficient and sustainable design of buildings. In recent decades, high-tech solutions with complex technical equipment have primarily been used to reduce energy consumption. Increasingly, however, low-tech approaches are now also being pursued, which use technology-minimized construction methods, natural operating principles and simple systems. The key question here is not whether high-tech or low-tech is the right way forward, but how both approaches can be combined synergistically. The State Prize for Building Culture 2026 recognizes and publicizes construction projects in which the planners have dealt with the tension between high-tech and low-tech in a particularly innovative way. The award recognizes projects that respond to the challenges of modern architecture and have produced forward-looking, transferable solutions for the "right" level of technical equipment and furnishings.
