Ausstellungsgespräch & Brunch | Périmètres de transformations

As part of the exhibition "Périmètres de transformation" at the Centre Culturel Français Fribourg, an exhibition talk between the artist Manuela Marques and the photographer Nicolas Bézard will take place at the CCFF, followed by a brunch and an exhibition tour in the Morat Halls!

Manuela Marques' artistic work is part of a contemporary exploration of landscape representation and the construction of the gaze upon it. It develops from unique environments that are seen as veritable places of exploration and research. Each place examined becomes a space of exploration in which different levels of perception intersect and overlap. Historical, geographical and scientific data enter into a dialog with a sensitive and experimental approach. This approach unfolds in photographic works, videos, sound pieces and installations that are conceived as dispositives of observation and experience.

Manuela Marques, born in Portugal, lives and works in both France and Portugal. She is represented by Galerie Anne Barrault (Paris) and Rui Freire Fine Arts (Lisbon). In her work, which moves in the field of photography and video, she explores the relationships between materiality and immateriality, between the visible and the invisible, and between perception and representation. Based on everyday objects and elements from nature, she creates images that question the modalities of the gaze and interpretation, placing presence and absence, light and shadow as well as form and indeterminacy in tension with one another.

On Friday, June 5, an exhibition talk with the artist Manuela Marques and the photographer Nicolas Bézard will take place at the Centre Culturel Français. The talk will be held in English. It will be followed by a convivial brunch at the CCFF. Those interested can visit the "Sédiments de mémoire" exhibition at the Municipal Gallery in the Morat Halls from 13:30.

The exhibition is part of the Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse 2026 .
