releases new trio CD "Generations
13 years after the release of her last solo CD "Contrasts II", the German-based Azerbaijani singer and pianist Aziza Mustafa-Zadeh is now releasing a new trio album, "Generations".
Back in 2008, she decided to form a trio with bassist Ralf Cetto and drummer Simon Zimbardo and perform with them throughout Europe. Performances at renowned music festivals such as Montreux, Antalya, Istanbul, Izmir, Novi Sad, London, Vienna, Basel and many others were followed with great enthusiasm by the audience, but the TV recording of the trio at the Leverkusen Jazz Days or the portrait of the artist on ARTE also caused quite a stir. The trio interprets solo and trio arrangements from all eras of Aziza's creative period, as well as works by her father, the brilliant jazz pianist Vagif Mustafa-Zadeh, who was also very fond of the sound language of the piano trio.
Only a new CD has been a long time coming - until now. In July 2020, the artist presents a unique stroke of genius:
Aziza Mustafa-Zadeh, now the mother of a son, combines 12 compositions from three generations of her family on a new album. She arranged compositions by her son, added new works of her own and interpreted two of her father's titles with her own trio - all on one recording. The CD "Generation" is now available in Aziza's webshop.
Ramiz-Han has been performing with his mother & trio and traveling the world since 2021. He has already played in such large halls as the Baku Congress Hall (3000 people capacity), the CRR in Istanbul, the Belgrade International Jazz Festival and others. On May 10, Ramiz-Han will perform for the first time in Izmir AKM with Aziza Mustafa-Zadeh on two pianos.
His repertoire includes compositions by Vagif, Aziza, his own and jazz standards. Thelonius Monk is one of his favorite composers.
It will definitely be an exciting evening.
