Konzert: Kommando Marlies / The Mono Maniacs (Power-Pop / Punkrock / Garage)

In the organizer's words:

The boys are back in town or the return of the power pop roller Kommando Marlies!

Hope dies first! If you still haven't given up, consider yourself lucky - the year is 2024 and Kommando Marlies are back!

As if time had stood still, they continue where they once left off - the world is simply spinning too fast and too much is going wrong these days for anyone to want to shut up. However, in the old fashioned way, they don't just get loud, they open their mouths in a danceable way. Finest punk rock, unwashed and stinky, rebellious and to the point!

Uwe Umbruch (The Revolvers, Public Toys, etc.) has not only been joined by the original drummer of the band Krolle and Germany's punk rock export Eric J. P. on bass - they have also been joined by Andi on organ, who some may still know from the Porters. Not only digitally and on vinyl (the new album will be released in May), but now also live on stage again.

For all those who have never wanted to listen to "Halt's Maul!" and all those who have kept their mouths shut so far!

Here are THE MONO MANIACS - the latest and dirtiest sound from northern Hesse.

The newly formed duo from the heart of Kassel manages to bridge the gap between punk rock, garage and power pop and writes their own songs.

They are currently playing their first live gigs, and both of them already have plenty of (live) experience:

Steffen Knoop, who has been the drummer for Lost Lyrics for over 20 years and regularly releases records with them on Hulk Räckorz (label of WIZO, Slime...), is on the drums. Live, he has already sat on countless drum stools all over Germany.

The fuzzy guitar and vocals are provided by Lucas Rieger (with a C), who has been making solo music himself for many years - somewhere between punky singer/songwriter and quirky electro-pop. He has already played together with bands and artists such as Liga der gewöhnlichen Gentlemen, Matze Rossi, Ninamarie etc.

DIY is not only a top priority here, but also a way of life. The band makes everything themselves (yes, even the patches on the shirts).

The two boys from Kassel are currently planning an EP for 2026 and, of course, more gigs. What does that sound like? Imagine the White Stripes playing 60s hits and the mixing desk is fucked up.
