Bairisches Kasperlspiel: Wiggerl der Märchenkönig und das Schlossgespenst

The Kasperl story Wiggerl the Fairytale King and the Castle Ghost by Stephan Mikat is a homage to King Ludwig II and his Herrenchiemsee Castle.

Kasperl visits the castle with his friend Mucki. Strolling through the state rooms, the three end up in the fairytale king's bedroom. Kasperl finds the bed so cozy that he falls asleep immediately. Meanwhile, Mucki continues to roam the castle. When King Wiggerl II wants to go to bed, he is startled to see a strange Kasperl snoring in his royal bed. Kasperl is no less startled when the king wakes him up. The fairytale king tells Kasperl his story and why he wanted to build a castle in the middle of the lake. He proudly shows Kasperl his fairytale castle. While Kasperl is happily dreaming away, he suddenly hears the voice of his friend Mucki: "Kasperl - wake up"...

Dream or truth? What role does the castle ghost play? Will Wiggerl the fairytale king and the castle ghost provide the answer? That remains a surprise, of course!

Stephan Mikat currently runs the only Punch and Judy show in Bavaria that has been awarded the "Intangible Cultural Heritage - Regional Diversity of Dialect Theaters in Germany" seal of approval.

Kasperl speaks Bavarian, but is understandable for everyone.
