BALLROOM

What is Ballroom?
A culture that was created in NYC in the 70s by black and Hispanic queer people, especially trans women. It's about different categories that are put into competition. It is a community that provides a safe space for BiPOC and/or LGBTQI+.

What can I expect?
A ball is an event, a competition, in the context of ballroom culture. Active members of the scene show their skills in various categories, compete against each other and fight for trophies. The winners are chosen by a jury and the event is accompanied by an MC and DJ.
