The President of the State Parliament, André Kuper, invites you to the Parliament Night. Guests can expect a special democratic experience in an evening atmosphere. On Friday, 26 September 2025, the state parliament will open with a program of live music, information, poetry slams, magic and talks. Guests can sit in the seats of the MPs in the plenary chamber and discuss current politics with the parliamentary groups.

Last year, around 5,000 visitors attended the Parliament Night. Particularly popular: the auction of guest gifts from the state parliament for a good cause. Rarities from all over the world will once again go under the hammer this year. The proceeds from the Parliament Night will go to the "Lichtblicke" campaign run by NRW local radio stations.

The President of the State Parliament, André Kuper, emphasizes: "The State Parliament is the home of the citizens and the symbol of democracy in North Rhine-Westphalia. The Parliament Night offers a unique opportunity to experience the state parliament in a special evening atmosphere and to engage in conversation with politicians. I invite all citizens to get to know their parliament in a new, different way and at night."

From 5 to 11 p.m., guests can experience the "heart of democracy" in North Rhine-Westphalia and look forward to music, entertainment and information. They will be joined by Prof. Reinhold Ewald, space ambassador for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and former astronaut, the WDR radio choir and magician Yuta Maruyama, as well as many other guests from politics and the media.

The five parliamentary groups of the CDU, SPD, Greens, FDP and AfD in the state parliament will also be presenting their own programs, including exhibitions, music and photo campaigns.

A visit to the Parliament Night is free of charge. Prior registration is not necessary.
