This is Berlin in rhymes, beats and biting punchlines.

Berlin Berlin: the Poetry Slam is all about the capital: its love and noise, currywurst and club nights, subway drama and Spree romance. Slammers from all over the city (and beyond) present texts that celebrate, dissect and poke fun at Berlin - sometimes seriously, sometimes ironically, sometimes simply for a laugh. Accompanied by a photo exhibition by Samson Völk, which puts the texts in the right light.

In the elegant Renaissance Theater, Berlin's street poetry meets 1920s chic, between art deco and chandelier glitter. A stage that can do as much theater as subculture - and on this evening belongs entirely to the capital.

Whether tourist or local: here you can hear the city as no one else tells it.
