The exhibition "Bernhard Heisig and Wroclaw" at the Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie shows Heisig's moving memorial pictures, which are linked to his past and the fate of his native city of Wroclaw during the Second World War. As memorial paintings, they bring to mind the blindness caused by National Socialism. Virtuoso painting and the force of the scenes depicted combine to create an intense artistic experience.
