Best of Jazz-Akademie 2025 // Jazz & Future Music

It swings, sounds and jazzy: various ensembles that have studied at the Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy over the last two years show off their skills. Many new faces, young stars and talents will be performing in various formations - from solo to big band - from 7.30 pm with Free admission! These include the GBJA Masterclass, the young Indonesian jazz vocalist Rafiandi Kresnanto, the singer Nora Lemjimer, the 17-year-old bassist Johannes Otto and Kester Jahn, the academy's digital programming ensemble, the GBJA Big Band Dortmund and almost all other ensemble sections of the Dortmund Jazz Academy led by the lecturers Orest Filipov, Hans Wanning, Ingo Senst, Philipp Hayduk, Indra Tedjasukmana, Evgeny Ring and Uwe Plath.

The GBJA supports young jazz musicians from the refugee areas of Ukraine. The 17-year-old alto saxophonist Mark Maksimovych has already been integrated. A wide variety of jazz styles and international guests guarantee you a varied, entertaining and thought-provoking evening with new talents - and lots of fun!

The Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy Dortmund, founded in 1996 in memory of Prof. Rainer "Glen" Buschmann and awarded the WDR Jazz Prize in the "Honorary Prize" category in 2017, enjoys a great reputation. The academy's lecturers are nationally and internationally active jazz musicians with a wealth of experience - both musically and educationally.
