From May 23 to August 23, 2026, the group exhibition Produced on the Skin shows artistic works that deal with the interfaces and border areas that surround us and define us. Different types of membranes mediate between individuals and their environment via the skin, the sense of sight, touch and the structure of our brain, technical devices, clothing and architecture. They process and react to impressions. They shape how we behave, what we let in and what we prefer not to let in, what we protect ourselves from and what we actively deal with and what we want to externalize. The concept of imprinting can sometimes be understood quite vividly: from substances to experiences - influences change bodies, brains and attitudes.

"I have always thought that artistic creation is a way for the skinless to provide themselves with a skin," writes the writer Kirstina Lugn in "Hundstunden". In this sense, she sees artistic work as a membrane that filters the relationship between self and environment, between language and material. The artistic working methods in the exhibition negotiate these material boundaries and reflect on what is taken in and in what form it is given out again. They address questions of incrustation and permeability, withdrawal and liquefaction, proximity and distance.
